The View Today: Tanah Lot

Today we took a drive across the south of Bali through the chaotic streets of Denpasar to Tanah Lot, a temple built centuries ago on top of an offshore rock formation. The temple is completely surrounded by water and stands tall above the surf rolling in from the Indian ocean. According to Balinese myth a poisonous sea snake lives in the waters at the base of the rock warding off bad spirits (and tourists??) – Glad we didn’t run into him during our visit..
